is not a common culinary combination, but in the world of natural dyes these two go well together.
Both silk scarves have been dyed first with strong tea solution containing tannins and then over dyed with onion skins. The result is a rich bronze to amber colour which slightly shifts to either yellow or brown depending on how much light falls on the fibre – as it is often the case with plant based dyes.
this is rougher matte silk, the colour is not uniform, there are darker and lighter parts across the scarf
and the smoother shinier version, again in pure silk.
Both are now available via my red2white shop.
