I am a fresh owner of a Singer overlocker.

I like the drape and elasticity of  jersey fabrics and it’s a joy to see how neat the seam comes out of this little machine. For the cover stitch (to sew hems) I am using a twin needle on my sewing machine.

Sampling is a must, if the tension is not right, the seam is ruined and unpicking would take forever. For each type of fabric/thread a new tension needs to be set.

Over/Coverlockers require more thread than an ordinary sewing machine and it takes some time to thread them, but it’s really not difficult. I thought I have enough threads – but where are the neutrals?
