A trip of the day – Loch Morlich, Aviemore

We are having wonderful wintery weather here in the Highlands.Calm, foggy and frosty. Everything has been kissed by Mr Frost.

Today we made a trip to the nearby Glenmore Forest Park and Loch Morlich. cairn-gorme-b

To our surprise it was all frozen and ready to slide on!

And look what we found! A wedding ring at the bottom of the frozen loch! Now, I would like to know the story behind! For once we found gold and had not the right tools with us to take it :D!

  1. Oh! What a lovely story this will make:) Just like a fairytale…the lover lost his/her ring in the loch….or it was thrown there in a passionate upset…

Or…whoever can free the golden ring from the frozen/crystal loch will be blessed in some way…

How wonderful! Your photo really speaks volumes!

  3. That’s too cool – any chance you managed to fish out the ring? Has to be an interesting story behind that one. 🙂

Hang on…then again, I read this book, once, about someone who found a ring in water and it didn’t turn out very well for the Hobbits!

  4. Hello Brian! No furhter discoveries on the ‘ring’ front. Although a lot of speculation has been going on in our houshold about the ring, I think, at the end of the day I am glad that the loch was so frozen no one could get it that day. I am glad it is were it is, I wouldn’ t like to have someone’s else wedding ring, imagining all what is behind – no drama of course, but the day when “they” bought it, exchanged it…. 🙂

  5. What a great story. I believe there’s a great story to that ring. I believe also that it has made loch morlich a place of romance. May 2009 I went there with some friends and fell in love, it’s been a year and I still hold those memories close to heart, I still cannot let them go ❤
