Felting balls with feltmakers

A week ago there was a feltmakers’ meeting in Dingwall again. After a summer break quite a few of us came. First, Ruth Black, a local textile artist, showed us her way of making and embellishing little and big felt balls.

And then we made our own. I was playing with colours a little bit and made these little ones, then a big one like this for my Etsy shop – just need to embroider a heart on it and played more with colours creating this flower.

Yesterday, we had a feltmaking group here at home: that is me and our daughters. I would say – they spent 20 % of the time layering the fibre, 10 % rubbing and the rest playing with a soapy water and  old nylon stockings which we used for making felt soap bars :).
