With January coming to it’s end I am still thinking about this question…

What do you think?

  1. Interesting thought.
I know I was attracted to my husband for his ability to be at ease in any situation and talk to anyone, his confidence.
I really didn’t achieve this type of total self-confidence until I turned 40 and I felt I could do what I liked and not care what people thought.

  2. I think about this a lot. I have been working through the book, The Artist’s Way, and the author suggests this. So, taking her advise, I listed out the people who’s qualities I admire…and also qualities I dislike. Then, I reflect back onto my self and see if the things I dislike are actually things I dislike in myself and wish to overcome…and the things I admire…I try to bring more of these qualities into my life…or begin to dig them out if they are already present, just dormant.

Pema Chodron talks of this too in her books and tapes. Sometimes I find I am really opposed to someone I hardly know. I take a moment to recognize and honor the thought, then look at myself and try to parse out what it is that I am in such aversion to…does this make sense?

    Love the question:)
