weaving
There has been very very little time for creating. I have woven this scarf, my 2nd woven piece ever. You can see the first one here.
It’s made from two types of variegated yarn, sock weight, on the Kromski rigid heddle loom and measures approx 23 x 164 cm without the fringe. My fascination with transformations continues - loose fibre is turned into a spun yarn and then a piece of a wearable cloth. It has got a wonky edge and there are few mistakes in warp and weft, but still…
For some amazing weaving, see Susan Johnson’s Avalanche Looms, Neki’s A Movable Feast and Caitlin’s collaboration with Rennes here. Also By Giros and this mosaic by Kristin. And that’s all just a fraction of all that beautiful woven stuff out there.
